Dr Anna Waters

Anna is a psychological skills mentor working with performing artists, athletes, business professionals and members of the public.
Many years ago Anna had a career in horse racing and spent some time riding as a professional jockey. Anna re-trained as a psychologist and gained a First Class (Hons) degree in Psychology with Sports Science from the University of Surrey Roehampton. This was followed by spending five years at the University of Wales Bangor where she attained an MSc and PhD in Applied Sport Psychology. Anna’s PhD investigated “The Role of self-confidence in rehabilitation and the recovery of motor performance” and won the British Psychological Society sports division award for the most outstanding PhD Thesis of 2006.
Anna is a HCPC registered and a Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). She has over 13 years experience of working with a range of sports and organisations including: UK Athletics, The British Equestrian Federation, The GB Canoe Team, The BOA, The English Institute of Sport, The Hong Kong Jockey Club, Kelly Holmes’ initiative ‘On Camp with Kelly’, as well as working with individuals in a range of sports and members of the public.
At Chimp Management, Anna heads up the Performing Arts Service. In this role she has delivered workshops with groups of actors and musicians, as well as working one on one with actors, ballet dancers, opera singers, comedians and classical musicians.
Anna is passionate about working with people to help them achieve happiness and success in all areas of their lives.
In her spare time Anna loves spending time with her family and two young daughters (who keep her on her toes), doing any sporty activities, seeing friends, going to the theatre and travelling.
