About Beverley

Beverley has been with Chimp Management since its inception, playing a key role in establishing and overseeing the operational side of the business. She previously spent over 20 years at The University of Sheffield, working as a manager in an acute clinical psychiatric unit within an NHS hospital. During this time, she supported medical education and was deeply involved in clinical research — managing grants for academics and ensuring studies ran smoothly.

Initially as General Manager and now Deputy CEO, Beverley has been central to the company’s growth, leading on sales and client relationships. More recently, her focus has shifted to building the academic evidence base for The Chimp Model. She works closely with universities, clinical academics, and NHS partners to secure research funding and support trials and publications.

In 2024, this work led to the model’s first academic publication, with further NIHR-supported studies underway.

From Beverley…

Jumping ship in 2012 from the stability and security of a large university and a clinical psychiatry department which I had managed for 20 years, where I had literally undertaken multiple roles along the way, certainly pushed me out of my comfort zone!

However, I love a challenge and knew the chance to build up a small company with Steve would be an opportunity of a lifetime — so worth the risk! We knew it would be a rollercoaster of challenges, along with much laughter and fun, but never losing sight of the main outcome objectives: to be able to help people and make good things happen.

I love being a friendly voice between our clients and our team of Mentors here at Chimp Management, so together we can help make a difference. That’s the real reward.

I’m also very passionate about getting The Chimp Model known as a recognised therapy, and by embracing my past experiences with clinical academics from universities and the NHS, I just love being the linchpin to getting the empirical data published in scientific journals. In a nutshell — I also love a bit of research!
